Rockin' the night away

Sledge performed to a packed house last weekend

Metal mania

When heavy metal band Sledge decides to rock the town, then everybody likes to ensure that they're there to be a part of the action and the things were no different this weekend when the band played at Green Park's pub Escape.

The `no reason' do was an amalgam of two bands. The act was opened by Stiff Neck Syndrome who played till 9.30 p.m. and then handed over the centre stage to Sledge.

The existing band members— Avinash on vocals, Anjani on bass, Suman on drum and Karuna on rhythmic guitar was there of course, but this was the first time the band performed publicly with their new guitarist Subhash.

Riffs galore

The band played Refuse Resist, Attitude, War for Territory, Amen and Slave New World by Sepultura, Night Crawler by Judas Priest, Be quick or be Dead and Power Slave from Iron Maiden and Raining Blood by Slayer to pub full of 300 metal heads. Liar to Follow and Serpent of Sorrow, the bands own compilations from their album Desert of Souls, were very well received.

The event, handled by Full Volume events had all music lovers present head banging till the encores were through.
