Malayalam superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal are trying to cash in on the football fever in Kerala. In the Malabar area, football is the number one sport and now with the World Cup in progress, it is affecting the box-office. Mammootty has a big release "Prajapathy" today (June 15) and to promote the film especially among his fans, the actor had a photo session in which he wore the jerseys of countries like Brazil and Argentina, two popular teams with a huge fan base in Kerala. The stills of Mammootty in jersey playing football will be used to promote the film.
Meanwhile, in Mohanlal's new film "Mahasamudram", where he plays a fisherman, there is a football match in the climax in which the actor represents the Beach Eleven. Former Indian soccer star I. M. Vijayan plays the villain and captain of the opposing team! Says Mohanlal: "I am crazy about football and if I had been able to get a ticket, I would have been in Germany to watch the game."
