World Music Day celebrations

Alliance Française de Trivandrum and Embassy of France in India is organising a musical soiree, in connection with Fete de la Musique (World Music Day) at Museum Auditorium, at 5 p.m. on June 21. This festival was started in France on 21 June, 1981 and was conceived by Jack Lang the then French minister for Culture, to pay tribute to music.

Over the years, it has evolved into a social tradition and is celebrated all over Europe and other parts of the world.

In France, every year on this day, thousands of musicians, both amateur and professional, gather and perform at public places to celebrate the spirit of music.

This year, on the occasion, Alliance Française de Trivandrum invites amateur and professional musicians / singers to participate in the programme. There is no admission fee and the festival is open to all who enjoy music. Last date for registration is June 16.
