If you practice gastronomy, then the cuisine of Chettinad tops the charts, the Chettiyar style of cooking uses spices in a way that imparts it's significant flavour. The cuisine hails from the southern region of Tamil Nadu .
Taj Green Cove Resort, Kovalam brings you `The Chettinad Food Fest' from June 19 to 25 (7.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m.).
The buffet that boasts of a plethora of Chettinad favourites, begins with a welcome drink called Vasanth Neer made of coconut water, honey and mint. There are plenty of salads for the vegetarians and non-vegetarians.
For main course, non-vegetarians can choose from a wide choice of mutton, fish and chicken preparations. Vegetarians too have a range of dishes to pick from.
A good meal always ends with desserts, one can choose from Yelaneer Payasam made from tender coconut or the Javarisi Payasam made from Sago.
The buffet is priced at Rs.499 inclusive of all taxes.
Chef Sonimuthu who has over 30 years of experience has impressed various dignitaries from India and abroad with his dishes. The festival ends June 25.
