STYLE WATCH

Big is beautiful

GLARES ALL Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan at the IIFA awards

The bigger the better, especially for sunglasses. No, we aren't making a pun on the tussle between the Big B and the IT department over Big B's alleged purchase of an expensive pair of sunglasses.

But Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan are walking ads for the trend of large sunglasses that are internationally `big' as well. Don't believe us? Check out their starry presence at the IIFA awards, their large framed sunglasses intact. On a different plane, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Bipasha Basu and Rini Sen also sport large frames in Phir Hera Pheri.

Fold it, crop it

Worried about getting your trousers wet and dirty in the slush after rains? Switch to wearing capris. If you don't own a pair, fret not. Simply crop your old pair of jeans or just fold your jeans to capri length.

Kashmiri chic

Thanks to Manish Malhotra, Kajol looked like a million bucks in fitted kurtis and crinkled skirts in Fanaa.

Notice how the intricate Kashmiri work on the kurtis adds to the outfit. As for the skirts, go for soft cottons or georgettes that will keep the volume on the lesser side.

Stop skirting the issue:

Talking of skirts, they are still very much in vogue. The longer, layered skirts of summer have given way to panelled, slightly flared skirts in brighter hues. While there is an addition of volume in the silhouette, the length is shorter. Opt for shin length or knee length skirts.
