ALL YOU NEED Under one roof

Exquisite terracotta from Meerut, decorative onyx pieces from Baluchistan and artistic Bhutani furniture are on display at the ongoing India Shopping Mall exhibition. A mini fridge (Rs. 1500) that can be kept inside your car is available in hot and cold versions.

The onyx carvings, both hand and machine made, are a definite draw — flower vases, elephant figurines and a Nandi with intrinsic carvings cost anywhere between Rs. 200 and Rs. two lakh. A pair of decorative onyx elephants costs Rs. 20,000 while a pair of decorative jars, each weighing 400 kgs, costs Rs. two lakhs. You can also check out jams, jellies and pickles from Lahore in this stall.

The cool-hot massage pouches (Rs. 300) that claim to cure back pain and joint pain have many takers. The normal temperature of the contents inside the pouch is increased to 54 degrees by pressing a tiny metal sheet packed inside the pouch. For a cold massage, all you need to do is leave it inside a refrigerator. An aloe vera facemask (Rs. 300), according to the exhibitor, absorbs toxins and dust from your face and also cleanses. The product comes with a free eye mask.

A range of massage chairs, car cushion massagers and neck massagers, imported from Malaysia are also available. Prices begin at Rs. 4,000. Carpets from U.P. with intricate artwork and in a variety of colours are on display. A carpet woven in a modern geometric design costs Rs. 7,500.

Bhutani furniture (oxidised brass work on teak) makes a style statement with its sheer elegance and a touch of royalty. The king sofa set with a three-seater, two single seaters, a tea table and side tables comes at Rs. 82,000. A swing is also available for Rs. 75,000, but when bought together, the cost comes down to Rs. one lakh.

Razi Rozario, an artist from Kochi, has exhibited his collection of oil paintings done with a knife (Rs. 100 to Rs.12,000) at the show. Korean brass items, kurtas from Mysore, dress materials from Rajasthan, electrical and electronic goods are also available.
