Truly Italian

Try out Sartoria in Vasant Vihar for Italian cuisine

If you want to have authentic Italian food without going too far away from South Delhi, Sartoria at Basant Lok in Priya complex might just provide the answer. Sartoria means a fashionable street in Italian. The moment you enter the place, you can breathe in the aroma of the freshly baked pizza in the mango wood fired oven. It acts as a stimulant to your taste buds. As you go up the stairs it gives you a chance to glance at true Italian decor. While making yourself cosy, the smell of Italian herbs, cooking on the way, fills your nostrils. From soups to main course, everything they serve here is authentically Italian, they claim. "No innovations, no inventions and no tampering is done with original recipes," says Executive Chef Pitamber.

Soups and more

Starting with soups, most popular on the menu is Zuppa Di Pesce, saffron flavoured broth and Crema Di Asparagi E Menta, rich cream of green asparagus with mint. If you are looking for a variety of pastas you must try hand out Cannelloni Al Forno Con Pollo E Ricotta, Cannelloni filled with chicken, ricotta and wild mushrooms and Spaghetti Putanesca, spaghetti tossed with hot pepper, anchovies, garlic, capers and parsley tomatoes. Giardiniera and Pepperoni pizzas leave your tongue with real taste of an Italian pizza. In the main course, juicy chicken breasts with thyme and lime, named, Petti Di Pollo Al Timo E Limone will leave you with lingering taste. To conclude your meal, try Tiramisu, a traditional Italian dessert. Budino Di Cioccolata, steamed milk chocolate pudding will not be bad choice either. Romance is in the air on Tuesdays, as they have Celebration Dinner, for couples. Meanwhile, a violinist plays in the background.
