Of a slew of clubs to keep your little ones engaged

Hippocampus Children's Co., a library-cum-experience centre with more than 200 members, is launching its clubs in July, which are open to all age groups.
Children in the age group 3-6 can participate in a dance workshop by Arathi Bodani where they will be taught Indi-pop and a folk song. They can also attend a reading and storytelling session conducted by storyteller VishnuPriya. She will not only read out stories to the kids but also entertain them with puppets and illustrations.
Children in the age group 4-6 can enjoy a eurythmics session with Marion Matthews, where elocution, quiz, dramatics and general knowledge will be covered. The members of this club can also audition for an opera to be held in December by Marion Matthews.
The older kids have the option of attending a cookery workshop, conducted by Kaveri, where they can learn about different cuisines and cultures of those people.
Then, there is a Snazzy Science and Magic Math session by Padma Nagarajan. Games, experiments, quizzes, worksheets and models are part of it. A theatre and book club has also been planned with Krishna Kumar of Masquerade. Here, various theatre forms will be discussed, and book reviews will be introduced.
Besides, the children will get to stage a play by December end and will be part of the Masquerade theatre club for young adults. For details contact Chandni @ Hippocampus.
