Crossover Point offers a wide variety of options from Continental to Indian to a live Teppanyaki and Satay counter
|
BREAKING BREAD Presentation is important and the food looks as good as it tastes
It is all happening at Indiranagar and 100 Feet Road is where it is all set. "I have counted at least 25 restaurants on this road," says Jagdish Menda, CEO of UV Hospitality Private Ltd. Jagdish, with Managing Director Virani, decided the time was just right for Crossover Point, a sprawling restaurant complex.
Apart from Crossover Point, which is exclusively vegetarian, there is also a grill, Fire and Flakes, a lounge, The Silver Tube, and a fine dining area, Ville Chaumiere.
Chromium steel
Crossover Point, with its chromium-and-steel look, offers buffets for lunch and a sit down dinner. From the live counter you can take your pick of pastas, stir-fires, jalebis, teppanyaki and satay. For those healthfully inclined, there are a host of fresh vegetables and a delectable array of salads to choose from, including low calory, low fat options.
And if that is too healthful, indulge in all the sinfully rich desserts. The bakery with its glass front means you can watch your breads being baked.
Dinner at Crossover Point is the last word in style with an a la carte menu, silver service and a personal butler.
Then you could climb a flight of stairs and go to Fire and Flakes, which is open air and a treat in the evenings as the whole of the city stretches out before you. You could hug yourself or your significant other with the joy of knowing that while lesser mortals are manoeuvring horrible traffic snarls, you are in this wonderful place digging into the most wonderful grills and barbecues from India, the Middle East, the Far East and of course the classic American stuff.
One of the main attractions of Fire and Flakes is chocolate fountain. Through the day you can have a range of chocolate-based snacks, bakes and pastries.
Then if you are the mood to unwind big time, the Silver Tube is the place. Radically designed in the shape of a tube, the place is very comfortable with sofas along the curved walls. Here, you could trip on the finger foods and suitably exotic cocktails and mocktails.
The dance floor is glass and the air-conditioning vents are see-through so you could have a dash of snow and fog or whatever to spice up the evening.
A royal experience
Saving the best for last is Villa Chaumiere, the complete fine dining experience. With even a little seating area where you can enjoy the best wines and cheese before moving to the table to sample chefs Sukesh Srinivasan and Daraius Rustom wonderful offerings.
"The days of smothering everything in a heavy sauce are long gone," explains Chef Sukesh as he serves the most delicious risotto. "That is imperial cuisine. The trend now is towards cooking in the juices thus letting each item have its own flavour." Presentation is equally important at Crossover and the Tiramisu is a work of art. The Ville serves food from Europe, Mediterranean, the Far East, Middle East and India. And there are wines from the finest Beaujolais to ports and cheeses including the Emmental and the Roquefort.
For a fine dining experience, or if you just wish to kick your shoes off and unwind, make the crossover and feel the good life coursing through your veins.
Crossover Point is at 2001, Kattima Commercial Complex, II Floor, 100 Feet Road, Indiranagar. Phone: 41519000.
