Now an audio film

Radio Mirchi has shot an audio film in Delhi's Lodi Gardens

SHOT AT SIGHT A scene from the film

Claimed to be the first of its kind, Radio Mirchi has just produced an audio film.

Aired on its programme, Bumper2Bumper this past Friday, the audio film, titled, Kuch Kuch Sunta Hai, has been shot in the Lodi Gardens' central monument.

"This short film is the first of its type in the era of private FM radio channels," asserts Kanwarbir Singh, Vice President and Station Head of Radio Mirchi.

The film has its star cast filled by its own jockey crew. RJ Naved of 98.3 takes the director's cue and RJs Anmol, Ravi and Pooja enact their roles.

The film, says Singh, is based in the Moghul setting. And humour being its genre, the hero of the film is an English-speaking yesteryear's Moghul who could go to any extent to impress his beloved.

The result is a bag of gags.

RJ Anmol, talking about the initiative, says, "We have started an unusual trend of making audio films for those who love to listen to Radio Mirchi. I hope our listeners will get an extra dose of entertainment with such innovative ideas."

Radio listeners might have a new taste of Mirchi with this but the whole idea lacks logical appeal. For an audio medium, the drama could very well have been enacted in a studio instead of the Lodhi Gardens.

Well, the real idea here seems like, who can be wackier than the other.
