Of a secret life

This Thursday will see the launch of a book titled Spy Princess — The Life of Noor Inayat Khan by Roli Books. Written by Shrabani Basu, the book follows the life of Noor Inayat Khan, a descendent of Tipu Sultan who became a secret agent during World War II.

Based on recently declassified documents, interviews with Noor's family and accounts from her colleagues and their relatives, the author retraces Noor's life, from her birth in Moscow to her undercover work in France. The author, Shrabani Basu, is a correspondent for the Ananda Bazar Patrika Group, writing for the Telegraph and other publications from London. Spy Princess... is her second novel, with her first, Curry, having been published in 2003.

Spy Princess... is being launched at the Taj West End at 7.30 p.m. on June 29.
