Carnival time
When football fever has gripped the entire world, can Bangalore not feel the heat? We too are glued to the telly and losing sleep over all the great goals and the great misses.
In keeping with the spirit of the season, Zee Sports, with All India Football Federation (AIFF), is right now holding Soccer Carnival to popularise football in India and "create awareness and excitement around Indian football and Indian football stars". This carnival is part of AIFF and Zee Sports project, Goal 2010, an effort to see India play in the next Football World Cup in South Africa in 2010.
The carnival, which kicked off in Bangalore yesterday, continues today with road shows in IT Park Whitefield (from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.; from 5.45 p.m. to 7.45 p.m.) and Cubbon Park (3.30 p.m. to 5 p.m.). On Sunday, the carnival travels to Lal Bagh (2 p.m. to 3 p.m.), K.R. Nagar (3.30 p.m. to 5 p.m.) and Garuda Mall (5.45 p.m. to 7.45 p.m.).
The road shows will include a variety of interactive games and contests, besides a series of entertainment programmes.
