For a rocking weekend

STOMPING SUNDAY Roots brings foot-thumping traditional American music

The next instalment of Levi's Sunday Jam, the monthly free concert promoting original music, takes place this weekend.

Headlining the concert is Roots, a band featuring U.S. musician Douglas Bell on the guitar, mandolin and banjo. The band also comprises Asaf Rabi on bass, Alan Rego on harmonica and Gopal Navale on guitar and mandolin, and will play a variety of traditional American music forms including Appalachian, bluegrass, blues, Louisiana Cajun and Zydeco, rockabilly and New Orleans rhythm and blues.

Levi's Sunday Jam kicks off at 5 p.m. on July 2 at Gurunanak Bhavan, 6, Jasma Road, Vasanthanagar. For more details on the concert, log onto www.freedomjam.net.
