Three cheers!

Shortcuts to represent India globally

SHORT TAKES Pasha, Nikhil Acharya and Sanmay

Short Cuts, the city-based film club that promotes short films and documentaries made by independent film-makers, has another feather to its cap. The club has been selected to send a three member delegation to represent India at the `V7 Seven Voice in Time,' an international teen media summit to be held in Los Angeles between July 21 and 30. The international meet will have participants from 27 other countries and Short Cuts will be the only club representing India. The trio that will be putting Hyderabad on the international map are - N.M. Pasha as the adult advisor of the delegation, 19-year-old Nikhil Acharya as the teen film-maker and Sanmay Ashvin Ved as the student diplomat. V7 will bring together 66 youngsters from across the globe to create awareness towards seven issues - racism, poverty, war and violence, health, environment, women's rights and youth empowerment. Sanmay Ved will be presenting a report on poverty while Nikhil Acharya will make a short film highlights racism. Both Sanmay and Nikhil have earlier been part of the student group that represented India at the Global Young Leaders' Conference in USA, organised by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council.
