Radio City turns five
RIDING THE AIR WAVES Mayor Mumtaz Begum with the Radio City RJs
Radio City, Bangalore's first private radio FM channel, recently celebrated its fifth anniversary with a bash. The party had a Bollywood theme-based fashion show choreographed by Prasad Bidapa and the RJs had to walk the ramp to the tunes hit Hindi and Kannada film songs.
Besides music, Radio City scored a first by creating wacky personalities like Lingo Leela, Sister Stella (with her melodies for maladies) and the current fav Appakutan Nair.
Ruchira Puri, Station Head and Vice President, Radio City, said: "We have been consistently entertaining the city with our innovative programmes. This party is a celebration of everything that makes Radio City the number one choice of listeners across Bangalore, namely, innovation, fun, entertainment and distinctiveness."
The anniversary bash was a part of the five-day celebrations by Radio City to announce its "presence and influence in Bangalore". As part of the festivities Radio City has been conducting fun interactive sessions at various hot spots across the city. The Radio City Roadshow also hit the roads on June 30.
