Laugh riot
"Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi", produced by director Shankar and featuring Vadivel in a dual role, is releasing this Saturday, after a battle with the Animal Welfare Board. This historical laugh riot is directed by newcomer Simbudevan, a former journalist. Says Vadivel: "Me, a hero? It is too much! But, the character is not the typical larger-than-life hero you find in Tamil films. Actually, I was not keen on playing the lead role, but after I read the script I readily agreed, as it is a laugh riot." The film has music by Sabesh Murali and camera by Arthur Wilson. Chaste Tamil has been used in the film, which is aimed at the family audience. Monica is the heroine. Says Shankar: "I saw the film and burst out laughing. I am happy with the way it has shaped out and it is my `S Films' third venture."
