Foreign degrees, home delivered!

Gone are the days when you had to leave the country for a foreign qualification

American Higher Education (AHEd), a global learning solutions company, has decided to bring quality education to India from Ivy League universities like Columbia, Harvard and Boston.

The conference at New Delhi's hotel Le Meridian the other day was attended by Dr. Leonard J Hausman, founder, Vice Chairman and Chief Academic Officer of this project, and Nagesh Singh, President, AHEd India. Since India is one of its first centres, AHEd aims to provide online education in traditional streams, as well as online degrees and certificates in disciplines like financial engineering, earth and environmental engineering, new media among others.

"Our commitment is to bring you the best," declares Hausman. Quality students, the company promises, will receive the best education and a U.S. degree without moving out of the country. As for placements, Hausman says, "We would offer all required support to our students". Course fee will be directly payable to the respective universities.

AHEd offers online and on-site Harvard programmes for teachers and administrators. Boston University provides online and on-site corporate and executive training programmes.

Modern facilities

Hausman inaugurated AHEd's centre, boasting all modern facilities like videoconferencing and a workstation laboratory, in Gurgaon.

AHEd has also set up a non-profit organisation, American Higher Education Foundation, to cater to those with limited financial capacity.

Headquartered in Boston the company plans to expand to Korea, China, Singapore and U.A.E. Ignoring the inherent drawbacks of on-line learning, this option might prove a boon to Indian students striving for a good education.
