Now, here is yet another eco-tourism destination for you. Called Planters Camp, it is located at Kirudale in Madapur, Somwarpet, Kodagu.
The camp is set in 10 acres of forestland and is surrounded by plantations.
The owners offer the guests a view of the forest, sacred groves, a variety of birds to watch and a rivulet and mountain springs.
Accommodation is in tents with attached toilets, and they provide hot and cold water and all meals. The campsite has mobile phone reception and wireless Internet access.
Situated 25 km from Madikeri, there are good motorable roads from Mysore and Kushalnagar to the campsite.
Authentic Kodava cuisine is served and the signature dishes include pandhi curry, kadambuttu, bamboo shoot curry, bamboo shoot tips fry, rice rotis, chicken curry, paputtu, naputtu, mutton pepper fry, Coorg mango curry and kuleputtu albai.
Some of the activities offered are a coffee plantation tour, rock climbing, trek to Kotebetta and nature walks.
All tariffs are for a one-night stay with lunch, tea and dinner on day one and breakfast on day two.
Single occupancy will cost Rs. 2,999 and double Rs. 3,999.
