New superstar

Johnny Depp has become Hollywood's new superstar after the world record-breaking opening of "Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" last week (July 7-9) at the U.S. box-office, which garnered an awesome $132 million. According to a spokesperson of Sony Pictures in India: "`Pirates' has taken the biggest ever opening weekend in Hollywood history by breaking the four-year-old `Spiderman' (2002) record of $114.8 million." Johnny Depp with his unconventional good looks has a gold tooth drilled in his gum for his role as the buccaneer Captain Jack Sparrow in the film (It is said to be inspired by the look of Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards). Today Depp is a favourite with kids and family audience, especially after last year's "Charlie And The Chocolate Factory". Now, "Pirates" has become a cultural phenomenon with the youth, and already shooting for "Pirates-3" is under way and the film will be released next summer.
