`Oka V Chitram' clippings screened at Steven Spielberg theatre in Hollywood
|
The Visual Effects Society Festival in Hollywood screened select films that have the best special effects, like X-Men: The Last Stand, Superman Returns, Cars and Poseidon.
But there's something in this festival that we, in Hyderabad, can cheer about.
Clippings of director Teja's recent Telugu film, Oka V Chitram, have also been screened at the festival.
Those who've seen the film would recollect the song Amigo, which is steeped in visual special effects.
Hyderabad-based company Pixelloid designed an imaginary city for the song through computer graphics. The only live actor in the song was one of the heroines, Madhushalini. The song captures the actress moving around the city and shaking a leg atop one of the skyscrapers.
Clippings from this song and its making were screened between July 6 and 8 at the Steven Spielberg theatre in Hollywood as part of a screening titled `New Works and International VFX Showcase'. The Visual Effects Society Festival serves as the meeting ground for the best talent in the industry from across the world. The festival will also include speakers, workshops and panel discussions to showcase cutting-edge technological advances, historical achievements, strategic planning and forecasting for the future of visual effects in film, television, and animation.
