FOR YOU George Abraham is the brain behind the website

  • German born Sabriye Tenberken has developed a Tibetan Braille script to help with her Masters degree in Tibetan which finally changed the lives of many blind person in Tibet.

  • Caroline Casey, herself blind, trekked 1000 km across South India on an elephant to raise awareness about persons with visual impairment.

  • Fifteen-year-old Satveer has designed a Braille software that allows blind students to type in Hindi or English using a Braille keyboard.

  • Preeti Monga, herself blind, working as a public relations officer a reputed hospital, shares grooming tips for blind women.

  • Madhu Bala Sharma talks about being a successful voice and accent trainer at a BPO concern.

These and hordes of other information can be availed at this first of a kind Indian website called eyeway.org. Be it positive parenting, job listing, eye care, update on products for the visually impaired, things of recreation for the blind, sports, national and international news, laws, personality development, stories of inspiration etc, eyeway.org has it all.

Says George Abraham of Score Foundation, the brain behind the effort, "Before eyeway happened, there was no one-stop information to cater to the requirements of people with visual impairment, their family, or anyone else for that matter."

He is happy at the response it has received so far. But not stopping at just this, Abraham has also gone to the extent of producing an informational magazine in Hindi and a radio programme on All India Radio to disseminate as much information as possible to many people as possible.

"There are still people who don't use Internet for information in our country and so we thought of the idea of bringing out a magazine and a weekly half hour radio show. After all, the idea is to fully address the issue," he says.
