Vanessa Williams

The Right Stuff/Universal

Much like her foray into the glamour world as Miss America, Vanessa Williams received rave reviews in the music industry with her debut cover The Right Stuff. Colours of the Wind subsequently won her a Grammy for Best Song written for Motion Picture and Television, while her Save the Best For Last remains a soothing chart topper from 1992. For her recent work, Vanessa released Everlasting Love, a collection of covers of her favourite 1970s tracks. For the moment lend an ear to the re-release of her 1988 debut.

Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man

OST/Universal

In January 2005 a tribute concert at the Sydney Opera House titled Came So Far for Beauty featured Cohen's best-known songs. The event featured Nick Cave, Rufus Wainwright, Kate and Anna McGarrigle, Martha Wainwright, The Handsome Family and U2. Lian Lunson brings together slices of the opera and samples from a candid interview with the songwriter, poet and counter-culture icon for the documentary. Named after his 1988 cover the film boasts of a melodic OST.

Scoop

OST/Universal

Woody Allen returns to London for his comedy/murder mystery starring Scarlett Johansson and Hugh Jackman and Allen himself, a travail of a journalist and her love interest and a magician. Lively polka from Bohemia meets a Spanish rhythm and there are more promising ballets that make this OST interesting. Lend an ear to this as Allen plans on the third with Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor.
