Framed!

Amrapali, the jewellery house, is going global. After the Hollywood production, Troy, they have designed jewellery for Valley of Flowers, which was recently screened in New Delhi. Recently, the jewellery used in the film was on display at the Amrapali Studio in Khan Market and the costume designer of the movie, Natasha De Batak shared her experience and concept that went into designing the jewellery. Talking about the movie and the kind of jewellery used, Natasha said, "It's a period film where you have bandits, royal families.

The jewellery used is old-fashioned and antique. We have used bones, eagle claws, chunky gold, blue stones and other organic jewelleries to give it an archaic look." Valley of Flowers, starring Milind Soman and the French actresss Mylene Jampanoi, is a Himalayan epic that spans two centuries, from the Silk Route of the early 19th Century to the modern-day Tokyo.

As for the research, she said, "The movie is inspired by Alexendra Davidneel's Magie d'Amouret Magie Noire and some of the scenes are filmed on the ancient routes in the Himalayas." About choosing Amrapali's jewellery she said, "We had to shoot Indian royal caravans laden with jewels and Amrapali was the right place to go for such authentic pieces."At the studio, model Noyonika Chaterjee showcased the exquisite pieces used in the movie.
