Fun and frolic are the highlights at a fundraiser for children

Here's an event that comes loaded with entertainment. And, it is for a cause.

Proceeds from the Prakriya Carnival, a fusion of games, competitions and fun galore, will fund the extra curricular activities of deserving children.

Children training at the District Athletics Association have been identified as beneficiaries.

The two-day carnival, an early celebration of Independence Day, will take place at Ramalingam Chettiar School, Saibaba colony on August 5 and 6.

The event's theme is "We are the Future" and it will feature games, prizes and scrumptious food. Entry is free and open to all.

Activities include Shristi (model making), Vanavil (thematic painting), Vande Mataram (fancy dress) and Saarang (street play). Organised by Prakriya, a volunteer group which aims at enhancing the talent of children through competitions and creating social and environmental awareness amongst them.
