Take the Mirchi way

TAKE A LOOK A dish on offer at Mirchi restaurant

Mirchi restaurant, after its successful run at New Delhi's Ansal Plaza, has just opened another joint.

Openedat PVR Plaza in Connaught Place, this is good news for all the Mirchi lovers as now they don't need to drive down to Andrews Ganj to enjoy the spicy flavour of chillies procured from different parts of the country, the restaurant's USP.

The new branch offers Indian food sprinkled with a variety of spices collected from across India. Specialising in kababs, Mirchi offers you everything from the Rajasthani murg ka soola to the very spicy jheenga tandoori, perhaps, the most amazing prawns cooked to perfection in a clay oven.

Dahi ka kabab

Vegetarians too will get their share of kababs here. The restaurant's speciality in vegetarian section is the Dahi ka kabab. Besides, there is the all-time favourite, Chutney paneer tikka.

Talking of regional representation in the menu, there isMalabar fish curry, Lagaan ka posht Murg pashtoonand Ajwaini mahi tikka, a popular dish fromPunjab.

In vegetarian, aloo mirch ka salan and paneer pashtooni are too good to resisit. For dessert, you have the fresh and delicious "chuski" in many flavours - kala khatta, khus and gulab, etc.

Talking about Mirchi, Ranjiv Kumar, the restaurant owner, says, "Mirchi is a creation of my own imagination and my beliefs about a perfect restaurant. I don't believe in sticking to a particular dish, , I wanted a mixture of all, an one-stop restaurant where you can find all kinds of spicy dishes from all parts of India."

He says his restaurant uses "self-prepared masalas rather than the adulterated ones available in the market."
