Know yourself better

A recent interactive session of astrologers in New Delhi mulled over science behind our beliefs

Money, health and marriage have always been issues of importance for us. Complications attached to these have compelled many people to seek remedy from astrology down the ages.

Enlightening session

Keeping this is mind, the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) recently organised an interactive session on `The Science Behind Our Beliefs' in New Delhi. Present at the session were eminent speakers like Ma Prem Usha, Ajai Bhambi, Mohini Narain and Sudhir Budhiraja.

It began with a welcome address by Radhika Backliwal Narain, the Chairperson of FLO. Bhambi, a practicing astrologer for the last 30 years, whose uncanny predictions have always surprised people be it the death of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, entry of Sonia Gandhi in politics, or comeback of superstar Amitabh Bachchan, called astrology "a direct science". Addressing the session, he said one can transform oneself by remaining aware of the impending problems and by knowing oneself better. He shared some interesting facts with the audience like how to read an ear. "An ear is divided into three parts. The lower part signifies compassion, the middle part, logic and the upper part, thinking process. Once my guru said I had the worst ears and since then I keep my ears hidden," he said lightly. Astrology, face reading and palmistry are the areas he has mastered.

Ma Prem Usha, a well-known tarot-card reader, said, "It is an ancient meditative discipline which helps you to grow spiritually." Developed 500 years back in northern Italy, it is now a popular tool for spiritual introspection. Cards can be used for therapy, mirroring and counselling. The mystique of the tarot card combines astrology and symbols to reveal insight into the past, present and future.

Mohini Narain, a lawyer by profession, and a Karmic healing specialist, said, "I believe Karmic healing to be a holistic idea. It helps to realise yourself beyond your physical body. Through such practices your health and mind can actually send and receive energies which can lead to a very positive growth."

Sudhir Budhiraja, a Chartered Accountant and Doctor in Astrology, discussed as to how our date and year of birth can have influence on our character. Besides emphasising the significance of numbers in our life he also threw some light on gemstone therapy. Based on light and colour, the stones have the power to affect the user, he elaborated.

The session came to an end with a lucky draw in which the winners got a chance to receive free counselling from these renowned masters.
