Thespo, the multilingual youth theatre festival, is back for its eighth year. The festival is the brainchild of Theatre Group Bombay and Q Theatre Productions. It debuted in Mumbai in 1999 and first appeared in Bangalore in 2001 and has since been a popular platform for youth theatre.
Thespo 8, organised by Silver Screen Entertainment, will span over six days in the last week of November, and will present workshops by visiting and Bangalore-based theatre persons, play readings and so on, besides the staging of selected youth plays from cities such as Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Bombay and Manipal.
Participation in the festival is open to all youth theatre groups provided all participants in the plays are aged below 25 and the plays are at least 60 minutes long.
For those interested in participating in Thespo, in acting, directing, writing, lighting or other capacities, an orientation meeting is being held on Saturday, August 5 at the Alliance Francaise de Bangalore. For details, contact Rebecca on 99861 77534 or Subhashish on 98868 33392.
