Olive oil for cooking

COOKING OIL Olive oil comes in three types

Where can we get flax seeds and flax seed oil in the city? How can one identify genuine oats and olive oil? Where can we use olive oil in vegetarian cooking?

Nalam

Malkajgiri

Flax seeds are available with Q mart at Road no 1 Banjara Hills. While buying olive oil, make sure it should not be more than six to eight months old, as it oxidises as it grows old.

Olive oil can be divided in three types. Extra virgin olive oil has less than one percent acidity. Olive is picked and pressed the same day. Oil has strong green colour. Virgin olive oil is made from the olives that are pressed after the first extract is taken. Oil is light green in colour.

Pure olive oil is much lighter in colour with little aroma of olives. Pure olive oil is a result of blend of olive oil and refined oil. Olive oil can definitely be substituted for vegetable oil. Olive oil lowers the risk of coronary heart disease and reduces blood cholesterol level.

Curry leaves chutney

Can we preserve curry leaves chutney in the refrigerator for few days? What is the ingredient that you need to avoid to make the same for a sugar patient?

M. Nisha Agarwal

Curry leaves chutney can be preserved in the refrigerator for few days if it is cooked well and cooled well before storing. Make sure there is absolutely no water in chutney.

Ingredients like jaggery or sugar should be avoided in the recipe for diabetic patients.
