Actress Mouli Ganguly takes a break from all things serious
|
ROLE MATTERS Mouli Ganguly
Pose a few tough questions to television actress Mouli Ganguly and she tackles it with a smile.
She even goes to the extent of saying that her fickle mind brought her to Mumbai.
A science graduate from Kolkata, Mouli shifted to Mumbai to study hotel management but left it midway. She then enrolled in a mass communication course, but did not complete that as well.
"Like most beginners, I too started with modelling assignments," says the actress, best remembered for her role as Shaina Sikand.
Mouli says endorsing products brought her to limelight but the much awaited opportunity came from the house of Balaji Telefilms, which featured her in Kahin Kissi Roz...as Shaina.
And then followed serials like Kutumb, Kkusum, Sakshi and Sarrkkar. She even reaped a few complements for her short but convincing role in Rituparno Ghosh's Hindi movie, Raincoat.
Now, Mouli will be seen in Resham Dankh, playing a comic role.
Talking about her role, Mouli says, "I play the role of Divya Balraaj opposite Raahil Azam (Aditya Balraaj). Since the offer was from the makers of Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai and Instant Khichdi, I took it up. I am really happy to get a chance to do a comic role. I have done enough serious and grey roles in TV serials."
No more particular about the length of a role in a serial, she says, "I am more script driven these days."
