Two to tango, a novel attempt

Audio release of the film "By2"

A FILM WITH A DIFFERENCE At the launch function

The film "By2" has only two artistes. But the cassette release function saw a host of film celebrities coming together to wish the producer and his crew. The event was presided over by director Ramanarayanan, who has more than 100 films to his credit. He released the cassettes and CD of the film, produced by Jagadish R. for V. R. Miracle Movie.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramanarayanan said "By2" was unique and like the title of the film company was a `miracle', because there were only two actors in the film. "I am curious to see it."

The producer of the movie Jagadish R said he was fascinated by the story. "The director has done a wonderful job. We have shot in different locations. The film which runs for more than two hours is a visual treat and it is to be released soon."

Abai, who has acted in two Kannada films, plays the lead, and the heroine is Sunitha Varma. Director Dwaraki Raghavan is confident that `By2' will be a success. "My film has all the ingredients that would make it a box office success — sentiment, beautiful locations, different camera angles, enchanting music, special effects and crisp dialogue. It is a different kind of love story which people will enjoy."

The major portion was shot in different forests of the southern States, particularly Kerala. The film may have only two characters but more than 200 people were involved in the shooting.

The film has five melodious five songs, all written by poet Vairamuthu and set to music by Vijay Antony. The link lines for each song are spoken by the hero and the heroine. This is refreshing as the concept is normally used in radio or television.

The first song `En Kaalgal', sung by Chaitra Gopinath, is the best of the lot. Sadhana Sargam and Hariharan have done justice to the song `Azhaga Azhaga.' The duo has sung two more numbers (`Poovin Madiyil' and `Roja Poovin'). `Unnai Paartha' by Sangeetha Mahadevan has good lyrics. The song `Nenjil Enna' is written and sung by Dwaraki Raghavan along with Chaitra Gopinath.
