What a hair-raiser!

The third regional round of the L'Oreal Colour Trophy Awards was organised at the Taj Palace hotel in New Delhi recently. The event showcased 28 talented hairdressers from across the country. They worked on the models to create new styles. The three three categories were New Generation, Men's Image and Colour Trophy. The first and the second category had eight participants each, while the third drew 11 participants. Some stylists created a frosted faux hawk look, while others worked out blonde cornrows. The judges were Ruchika Mehta, editor of a fashion supplement of a leading daily, Guillaume Vappareau, Technical Director, Guy Kremer Salon, fashion photographer Tarun Khiwal, designer Narendra Kumar and Vipul Bhagat. Speaking about their criteria for selection, Mehta said, "We looked into how the hairstyle has changed the look of the model." The grand finale of the L'Oreal Colour Trophy India will be held at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai, at the end of September.
