Soup-and-salad diet to keep off fat

Fruits and veggies keep aging at bay

What you eat is what you look: a well-known fact. Heavy oily, fatty diets make you sluggish. Too much of carbohydrates increase obesity. A high protein diet too is imbalanced. A healthy diet is one that is balanced with fat, proteins, carbs all finding a place in the right quantity. But for an anti- aging diet the quantity of fruit and raw vegetables must be increased. Avoid aerated coloured drinks and sweets . These simple and easy to make recipes will keep your system young and healthy.


Sunglow drink

Ingredients

Black grape juice - 1 cup

Curd - 3 cups
Sugar - One-fourth cup
Mint leaves - 2
Crushed ice cubes - few
Method

Combine all these ingredients except ice cubes and blend in a mixer and serve with crushed ice cubes.

Cherry soup

Ingredients

Cherries - 1 cup
Fresh dates - One-fourth cup
Lime juice - 1 tbsp
Curd - One-and-a-half cup
Sugar - 2 tsp
Cinnamon - a pinch
Lemon rind - Half tsp
Dry dates - 2
Method

Remove the seeds of cherry and dates and chop them. Blend this in a mixer with lemon juice, sugar and curd. Chop the dry dates. Cook the chopped dates with cinnamon powder, lemon rind and one-fourth cup of water and blend in the mixer. Combine these two and boil it. Cool and serve. If it is too thick add little boiled water.

Anti-aging salad

Ingredients

Sprouted moong - 3 tbsp
Paneer cubes - 3 tbsp
Orange - Half cup
Papaya scooped - Half cup
Banana scooped - Half cup
Watermelon scooped - Half cup
Black grapes - Half cup
Green grapes - Half cup
Dates chopped - 3
Honey - 1tbsp
Roasted cumin seeds - Half tsp
Chilli powder - Half tsp
Salt - to taste
Method

Roast and powder cumin seeds. Scoop Papaya, Banana, and Watermelon with a vegetable scooper. (Otherwise make cubes of this). Mix the roasted powdered cumin seeds, red chilli powder and salt with paneer and sprouted moong. Combine it with other ingredients and serve.
