`I feel like a loser'

Aarti Chabria's latest Telugu film is loaded with stunts

STUNTS GALORE Aarti Chabria has got a new look for her latest

If Aarti Chabria looks fitter than ever, it's thanks to her new Telugu film, Gopi - goda meedha pilli, directed by Janardhan Maharishi. For the first time, she packs a punch with stunt sequences and has been working out meticulously. As the long schedule comes to a close, Aarti is tired but enthusiastic.

"I am required to do a lot of stunt sequences. It's so much more interesting when a girl does the stunts. I trained with Harshman Babu's team for the sequences."

`Not Kill Bill'

The film is said to be inspired by Kill Bill series, but Aarti refutes that. " People assumed it's inspired by Kill Bill. Apart from the fact that women do the action scenes in Kill Bill and Charlie's Angels, there's no similarity. And Gopi is more than just an action movie. Naresh, Jagapati Babu and I have well-etched out roles."

Aarti has dyed her hair jet black for the movie. "I have lovely brown hair, but I had to dye my hair black; the look suits my character." Aarti is eager than ever to work in Telugu films. Earlier she was noticed for her fine performance in Rasool's Okariki Okaru. "I received some offers but nothing was exciting enough. Intlo Srimati Veedhilo Kumari was a big mistake. It was a beautiful story but didn't turn out well."

In fact, the recognition she gets in Hyderabad surprises her. "It's amazing how people remember me. I visited a shopping mall the other day and was mobbed. People are so warm that I feel like a loser to have not worked in more films here."

Ask Aarti if she's also missed the mark in Bollywood and she says, "I should have cashed in on the good fortune after my initial films like Awara Paagal Deewana. I was on a contract and couldn't sign too many films. Now I'm keen on working with well-known production houses. "

Aarti will be seen next in Shootout at Lokhandwala that stars Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan and a host of actors. "There are a number of stars but I have an important role.I'm a young Muslim woman in love with Tusshar, a bhai."
