Six peppy numbers

The audio and CD of "Emttan Mahan" were recently launched

MEMORABLE OCCASION At the audio launch of "Emttan Mahan"

The function organised for the audio release of Sathya Jothi Films' Emttan Mahan proved to be a trip down memory lane for producer T. G. Thyagarajan and all those who spoke on the occasion. They recalled various events that went into the making of the film, which they were sure would turn out to be a hit.

Welcoming the gathering, Thyagarajan said, "Everybody knows how difficult it is to produce a film these days. After Parthibhan Kanavu, we waited for the right story. That's because we want to ensure our company makes only good films. When Thirumurugan told me the story I decided to go ahead and make it into a film. Choosing the cast involved some tough decisions, especially the hero. We had Bharath in mind for the lead role in Emttan Mahan. Then Nasser got to hear the storyline from the director and was impressed. I decided he would be Emttan."

The cassette, released by Ramanarayanan, director and president of the Tamil Film Producers Council, was received by actor Vikram. The CDs were released by director S. A. Chandrasekaran, Tamil Nadu Film Directors Association, and received by actress Trisha.

Chandrasekaran was all praise for Thyagarajan. "He is good at planning and his productions are always economical. I am sure the film will be a hit because of its taut storyline."

Vikram said, "The promos and the songs of Emttan Mahan convince me that the film will be a hit."

The hero of the movie Bharath said, "A popular company with a well-planned shooting schedule, an interesting story and a good director... what more could anybody ask for? I am happy to be part of this successful venture."

Producer K. R. Sivasakthi Pandian, FEFSI Vijayan, music director Vidyasagar and actress Trisha also spoke on the occasion.

All the six songs composed by Vidyasagar have a good beat and each is different. The first and the last song on the album are the best. These are `Goligundu Kannu' sung by Karthik and Kalyani and written by Yuga Bharathi, and `Kalloori Generation' sung by Vijay Yesudas and Timmi and written by Pa. Vijay and Arjun. `Purinchiricha Purinchiricha,' rendered by George and Stephan Devasy and written by Na Muthu Kumar, is also good. Madhu Balakrishnan gets to sing only a small number `Manmeethuthan.' Though it is good, you can't help feeling his voice could have been put to better use. Another short number is `Unnoduthan' by Tippu and Subiksha. The lyrics for both these songs have been penned by Bhaskar Sakthi. The number `Vararu' by Mohan, Murali and Chandiran with Kabilan's lyrics ends the musical journey.
