Sadhna Kunj comes up with a home in Delhi for kids orphaned by J&K terrorism
|
Shri Ravi Shankar
As the world debates on the reasons for the rise of terrorism and ways to tackle it, the focus often shifts to theories rather than the practical setbacks faced by its victims. So any effort in this direction has to be welcomed as well as watched for its effectiveness in solving their short and long-term problems. Life for young children in Kashmir, for instance, has been full of misery. In particular, children who lost their parents in the terror drive don't have a secure future. With no proper education and job opportunities, children have become hopeless. But now there seems to be a ray of hope with Sadhna Kunj, an organisation run by the Sadhna channel, which is working to secure a better future for the children who were orphaned due to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sadhna Kunj, primarily an organisation involved in religious and spiritual activities, has come forward to help these children. They are constructing an orphanage in Delhi for which they have already adopted 50 children.
Gyan Ganga Mahotsav
They organised Gyan Ganga Mahotsav, to aid their orphanage, where religious and spiritual `gurus' like Shri Shri Ravi Shankar, Vijay Kaushal, Hari Chaitanya Puri and Sudhanshu Ji Maharaj preached on religion and world peace. Speaking on the occasion, the President of Sadhna channel Rakesh Gupta said that they would take care of the children in every possible way. All expenditure including education, clothing, shelter and food would be met by Sadhna Kunj. He told the media the organisation has decided to adopt around 500 children from the valley.
