The timing is just right. With Dasara and Diwali around the corner, which translates to food, friends and much shopping, The Hindu-MetroPlus Lifestyle Show is all set to overwhelm shoppers with offers, deals, events and activities. The exhibition (September 6 to 11, Palace Grounds, Mekhri Circle), like the supplement, will serve healthy helpings of fashion, food, shopping, movies, music, home and kitchen requirements.

Just what is it that is going to make this Lifestyle Show special?

Great timing

"Sixty-five per cent of the exhibitors are outsiders and first-time participants. This itself guarantees new products and freshness to an exposition," says Rais Arif, Chairman, iCare Communication, the official event managers of the show. "The show is going to be a platform for newcomers to launch their products. It is the pre-festival time, which is important both for buyers and sellers. The mind-boggling variety under one air-conditioned roof is a shopoholic's dream come true," says Rais.

With 4,500 sq. metres of shopping area, 150 stalls and nearly hundred client participants at the exhibition, every kind of lifestyle necessity is going to be met. Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Coimbatore, Mumbai, Pune, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Punjab and several small villages from across the country will be represented.

Internationally, there is designer wooden furniture from Vietnam, artificial jewellery, designer leather bags and artificial flowers from Thailand and the green stone marvel, Onyx Karachi.Kenya is super hot on the exhibition circuit and the items — earrings, neckwear from banana fibre and porcupine quills and good luck figurines crafted in wood are on the must-buy list.

The co-sponsors of the event, RMKV silks from Chennai, will put on display the latest world record variety colours in their silk collection. Ekbote would be showcasing some of it's signature collections in divans, cots and drawing room furniture, while Classic Polo, from the garment city Coimbatore, is all ready to flaunt the latest designer range in garments — if your timing is right, you may even get to see models strutting their stuff.

Consumer electronics, home appliances, interiors, handicrafts, computer and IT products, beauty and health, fashion and textiles, insurance and banking, kitchen accessories, travel and tourism, stationery and gift items... the possibilities are endless.

No fair is complete without the food and competitions. While the elaborate food court offers a gastronomical delight, there is Radio City 91 FM, the official radio partner, set to take you on a trip through the contests. For the connected lot, there are a multitude of offers from Siemens mobile.

That's not all... Don't miss zooming into our huge car and accessories section, for there is Tata Motors waiting to display their latest models. Tickets are priced at Rs. 40 and come with surprise gifts. Call 93425-77908 or 98801-95758 for details.
