To measure bone mineral density on September 2, 3 and 7

Lifeken, The Pharma Retail Chain, which started in May this year, opened its 10th outlet in the city at Velachery (Ceedeeyes apartments). To mark the event, Lifeken is organising free Bone Mineral Density Camps in select Lifeken outlets on September 2, 3 and 7.
On September 2, the BMD camp will be held at the Lifeken outlets in Porur and Ayanavaram between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. respectively. On September 3, the camp will be at Velachery (Ceedeeyes) between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and at Vadapalani between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. and on September 7 at Adyar between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The BMD test will measure the mineral density (such as calcium) in our bones, using special X-ray, CT Scan and other devices. From this, the strength of your bones can be determined and this helps prevent osteoporosis. This test is recommended for all men and women over the age of 40.
The BMD is normally not part of any annual medical check-up. It is done using ultrasound testing on the bone in the heel and is painless. The test takes only about five minutes and will be conducted by experts.
