ALL IMPORTANT Fruits and vegetables

The Coimbatore Diabetes Foundation (CDF) has launched the CDF — Diet. It is a specially researched and formulated diet for people who want to reduce their blood sugar, cholesterol and hypertension.

The mantra of the new diet is "Reduce, Replace and Restrict" — Reduce cereal based food, replace it with vegetables, fruits and pulses and restrict the quantity of food intake.

In a recent survey conducted by CDF, only 11 per cent of the urban population consumes vegetables daily. This diet promises to help those who are obese and have heart problems.
