GRAND FEAST An Onam spread
It is the most delicious part of the festival. Onasadya has many slaving over a hot stove preparing parappu, avial, thoran, kalan, payasam... for the grand feast.
This Onam, those who want a break from all that cooking can choose from many a restaurant in the city offering traditional `Onasadyas.'
Park Rajadhani (Rs. 112) and Indrapuri (Rs.99) have started their Onam celebrations early. They have traditional Onam spreads daily till September 6.
Ruby Arena offers it till September 7 for Rs. 80 while Sindhoor Palace will be conducting a grand `sadya' on September 2 for Rs. 110 with more than 30 traditional dishes.
Vegetarian feast
The vegetarian feast at Park Field on Thiruonam has assorted pickles, kalan, thoran, olan, Ambalapuzzha pal payasam and more for Rs. 150. KTDC's Hotel Chaitram too has an Onasadya (Rs.126) on September 5.
Muthoot Plaza (Rs. 350 plus tax) and South Park (Rs. 275 plus tax) are conducting Onasadyas at their restaurant.
While Muthoot's Onam meal is on Thiruonam, South Park is offering vegetarian sadyas from September 4 to 6. It is a buffet with a wide selection of payasams.
