CELEBRATE K. J. Jesudas inaugurates Onam festivities
The colours of any festival are the brightest amongst the youth. This Onam at Chinmaya Vidyapeeth, was no different as the students joined hands to welcome King Mahabali for his annual visit. It was regal for more reason than one as the celebrations were inaugurated by the veteran singer Dr.K.J.Jesudas.
Cultural potpourri
The two day celebrations started with a cultural potpourri on the first day as the students showcased talent ranging from traditional Thiruvaathirakali dances and Onam group songs to a thematic skit and an audio visual presentation signifying the spirit and message behind the festival.
The amateurs in the different art forms showed a maturity beyond their short training. Some of the programmes were conceived by the students themselves and they spent a good many hours trying to perfect it.
The team behind the wheel comprised of Arun Christy, Noel Ben, Mahesh P S, Rahul Kailas and office bearers from the four houses Vindhya, Sivalik , Aravaali and Satpura.
It was a chorus of appreciation for the students by Kamakshi Balakrishnan, director and Shailaja Menon, faculty, as they narrated the tireless efforts the students had put in to stage the event.
Something that even King Mahabali would cheerfully agree.
