Deepavali with a difference

Kids paint cards to bring cheer to the cancer-afflicted

It is an endeavour with a difference. And it is called Add Colour to Cancer — Child to Child Assistance Programme. It involves nearly 20,000 children and 95 schools who have painted Deepavali and New Year cards. They have done this with crayons, paints and, most important, with utmost concern for children who are fighting cancer.

The Vasantha Memorial Trust has launched the programme in order to raise funds to bring hope and cheer to those who are afflicted with cancer. Proceeds from the sale of the cards will be used to light up the lives of cancer victims.

The cards are priced at Rs. 10 each. For details, contact Nirmala Sharma, volunteer, at 98840-81400.
