Here is a new website which offers cricket lovers all over the world an opportunity to indulge in their passion for the game. Launched by former India captain Krish Srikkanth, www.krishcricket.com has games developed exclusively for the site. There are one big and six small games which can be played online or on mobile phones. Titled Krish Cricket Challenge for the web version, and Mobile Cricket Challenge for the mobile version, the game gives a player the opportunity of playing cricket in a holistic manner. He can select his team, his opponent team, the batting and bowling order, the fielding positions, the line and length of the bowling and so on.
The smaller games are entertaining in nature and test the user's skills and reflexes, enabling him to do better the next time. The website will track and keep a record of each user's scores and display a list of the leading performers. Through a `Promotional Points' system, players can accumulate points that can be redeemed against the membership fee, purchase of CDs and so on. So the more they play, the more they win.
Apart from the games, visitors to the website can purchase CD packs like Bat Like a Master, which has Srikkanth giving lessons on the different batting techniques; World Cup '83, featuring the semi-final and the final matches; and interviews with five players who played in the final match of the 1983 World Cup.
Thirty exciting moments from the final match, called Magic Moments are available as video clips for downloading on mobile phones.
Other attractions on the site include a video of Srikkanth's cricket related reviews. The archives section offers a chance to catch up with earlier episodes. Another unique feature of the site is the live ball by ball audio commentary on match days with responses from Srikkanth which make it more interactive.
The site has daily contests with special prizes for winners.
