Krishna Leela on canvas

Cartoonist Keshav is presenting Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum, (Krishna Leela II), an exhibition of drawings and paintings, at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Gallery I & II, Art Complex, Kumarakrupa Road from today. It will be on till September 20, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Venkata Raghavan P. Keshav began his career in cartooning as a freelancer in Ananda Vikatan in 1983, before joining The Hindu in 1987.

Keshav has been drawing and painting since childhood, inspired by the immortal creations of Indian and European masters.

The symbolism in Indian art, along with its spiritual content, has always fascinated him, prodding him to delve deeper into the beauty and grace of the edifying compositions of the Bhakti cult savants, resulting in his spontaneous outpourings on canvas.
