Box office history

Gautham Menon's Kamal Hassan starrer "Vettaiyadu Vilayadu" is turning out to be the actor's biggest hit in recent times. In Chennai city, the film was aggressively marketed by its distributor `Oscar' Ravichandran, who flooded the market with a record five prints. The film has netted an amazing Rs. 1.70 crore (approximately) from Chennai city in its first two weeks, a new city record! The distributor's share of Rs. 1.03 crore will be the highest for any film in a span of 14 days. In Coimbatore area, the film is likely to get a distributor's share of over Rs. 2 crore in the long run. The Tamil Nadu Government's waiver on entertainment tax has also boosted the collections.
