Touching tale

Nagesh Kukunoor is back with "Dor." He has made his "Iqbal" hero, Shreyas Talpade, the pivot around which the story revolves. Says Kukunoor: "It is about love, loss, friendship, hope and ultimately redemption." "Dor" is set in the deserts of Rajasthan and the valleys of Himachal Pradesh and has music by Salim Sulaiman. The story is about an Indian in Saudi Arabia who accidentally kills another Indian and is sentenced to death by a local court. His wife (Gul Panag) sets out in search of the victim's wife (Ayesha Takia), as her husband will be pardoned if the widow gives a letter as per Islamic law. "Dor" is based on the Kamal-directed award-winning Malayalam film "Perumazhakalam."
