Sledge collaborates with American rocker for their new single

SHINING BRIGHT Sledge is riding metal charts with their new single

Metal buffs rejoice as the twin cities' band Slegde releases a gothic metal Damnation. Currently riding the URL Audio Street on numero uno slot, this is the band's second single this year following their Envenomed released early this year. Music critics find it a right blend of thrash and death metal.

For the single, Sledge collaborates with US based Jane Evil, ex vocalist of the American metal act Haunted by Angels.

"We got in touch online. We have been members of online forums, doing similar stuff. Its been great working together," says Sledge front man Anjani.

"It is cool working with the mysterious east, adding my vocals to the new song from Sledge," says Jane.

"I also have some others working with me -- a producer in Greece, a friend of mine in Texas, a fellow musician in Finland, and a couple other friends," says the metal vocalist.

About the number, "it sounds typically Sledge. There are mellow and aggressive parts. Even non-metal music buffs will like it.

The response has been promising on international heavy metal charts.

The song also is also the highest track to be downloaded. The airplay on heavy metal radio stations in the UK has been very good," he says.

The single is written by Dr Maruth who has worked for the band's earlier cover. He will be joining the band shortly on keyboards, reveals Anjani. The current line up has Subhash, who joins the band on lead guitar, Avinash (vocals), Suman (drums), Karna (rhythm guitar) and Anjani (bass).

The band's current Damnation as also their earlier single will be part of Sledge's next EP after Desert of Souls, slated to hit music stands by the year-end.

"There is a lot in the pipeline. Unfortunately most of us are working. We have finished the storyboard for the single and plan to shoot it in the US. In terms of roadmap, definitely there are international gigs on mind," says Anjani.
