PENCHANT FOR PLATINUM The white metal adds variety to trousseaus

Platinum is finding a place in the trousseau as more people are looking for exclusivity. To meet this need, GRT Bridal has come up a new collection of wedding jewellery in platinum, which was launched recently.

"Platinum cannot replace gold, but it can be an addition to wedding jewellery. Perhaps one of the 10 pieces you are planning to buy," said G. R. Ananthapadmanabhan, managing director.

The pieces are priced at Rs.8,000 upwards and the bridal sets are priced at Rs. 70,000 upwards. The range includes rings for the bride and the groom, neckwear and wrist wear for the bride, and bracelets, chains and rings for the groom. Besides plain platinum jewellery, there are pieces studded with diamonds and other stones.

Platinum costs between Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 2,500 per gram. With several festivals round the corner, GRT is hoping to cash in on the mood. The jewellery sold by GRT is manufactured in Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. They have a buy-back scheme similar to the one the showroom has for gold jewellery.

Each piece also comes with an internationally recognised certificate.
