If you have made a mark in your chosen field, then here is your chance to hog the limelight

The United Writers' Association invites applications for the conferment of UWA Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century Award for the year 2006. Journalists, academicians, educationists, authors, artists, scientists, cultural ambassadors, entrepreneurs, defence personnel, doctors and religious and community leaders who have made a mark in their chosen fields and have immensely contributed to the betterment of contemporary society can file their nomination. The nominee should have made noteworthy contribution in his/her area of specialisation for the enrichment of the artistic, economic, commercial, educational and social landscape of the country. The nomination should be supported by documentary evidence in the form of visuals, photographs, portfolios, research reports, participation in seminars and exposure through different media for critical evaluation by the jury.

The award is restricted to 150 persons and carries a silver plaque and a certificate of commendation.

The rules and regulations governing the award can be had from the UWA National Award Committee, United Writers' Association, 35/36, Krishnamachari Nagar, Alapakkam.

The last date for filing nomination is November 30.
