Handicrafts and handlooms from Orissa at Utkalika till October 15

The exhibition-cum-sale being organised by Utkalika at Prince Plaza, Shop No. 21, First Floor, 46, Pantheon Road, Egmore, offers a peek at the glorious craft heritage of Orissa.

Bomkai saris and double ikat from Sambalpur, tussar saris, dupattas, salwar kameez sets and yardage form part of the display. Besides, there are salwar sets embellished with mirror work, jal work and phulkari embroidery, ghagra cholis, bedspreads pillow and cushion covers. Saris that have won national awards are also being featured.

Also on display are terracotta artefacts, brass flower vases, images of gods and goddesses, appliqué worked umbrellas, wall hangings, lampshades and handbags, sandstone icons, carved woodenware from Puri and semi-precious silver jewellery.

A 20 per cent discount is being offered on handlooms.

The exhibition is on till October 15.
