When east meets west

`Essences' is a mix of Indian and western dance

FUSION Purnima Ashok Kumar and Pauline Delhomme

It's a fusion dance fiesta at Vyloppilly Samskriti Bhavan on October 19 at 6 p.m.

Organised by Alliance Française de Trivandrum in association with the Embassy of France in India, `Essences' by Pauline Delhomme and Purnima Ashok Kumar mixes Indian classical dance and western contemporary dance.

Pauline, a professional French dancer, is working as a cultural trainee at Alliance Francaise, Hyderabad. Purnima, who hails from Secunderabad, is a trained Bharathanatyam dancer.

The duo will represent on stage what dance means to them in their cultural space and identity.
